Manchester based Now Healthcare Group appoints finance director as expands digital health apps

Europe’s leading digital health company, Manchester-based  Now Healthcare Group (NHG), has appointed Mark Siney as Finance Director, after launching the UK’s first AI-led tele-pharmacy app (Now Patient) and expanding its digital health offering across both the corporate and private marketplace.

Mark, who joined the business from Ellis Whitham, has a strong background in finance and operations, including securing private equity and maximising business performance and growth.

Now Healthcare Group launched its FREE app Now Patient in October 2017, receiving 25,000 downloads and hitting the No1 spot on the app store in a matter of weeks. It was created to support over 15million people in the UK living with chronic care conditions, enabling them to access GP consultations and manage their medication needs, (including ordering their repeat prescriptions via mobile technology) – which are dispensed and dispatched from its NHS approved Pharmacy.

Lee Dentith, CEO and Founder of Now Healthcare Group said: “Mark has joined us at an opportune time and will play a pivotal role in the financial journey of the business, especially as we explore options around our next stage of investment. As a leading digital health company, we are always looking to push boundaries and find innovative ways in which to support the health of the nation and Now Patient has been a game-changer in the marketplace – literally putting healthcare solutions into the hand of our patients”.

Now Healthcare Group was Founded in 2014 by Lee Dentith after he was unable to get an appointment for his son with his GP. He invested his own money to develop an innovative tech solution and in 2017 after a further £4m investment from MediCash, he launched Now Patient.

Mark Siney said: “Lee is a real entrepreneur and passionate about creating products to change lives and to revolutionise the health service in the UK and he founded Now Healthcare Group to deliver pioneering health care solutions for our ever-increasing population. It is an exhilarating time for the business and I’m looking forward to working with Lee and all the team on the next stage of the growth journey”.

Now Healthcare Group became the first provider its field to be found by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the government’s regulatory body for healthcare services, to be providing services that are safe, responsive, effective, well-led and caring. All doctors working for the platform are MRCGP-certified and hold current contracts with the NHS.
