Manchester opticians hosts family fun day for charity

A Manchester opticians welcomed children and their families to an action-packed fun day.

Face painters were on hand at Specsavers, Manchester Fort Shopping Park, alongside cakes, drinks and balloons, all in aid of Tommy’s Charity, a charitable organisation that provides support for pregnant women.

Specsavers also hosted a raffle, with the top prize being a relaxing spa day for two.

Manchester Fort Specsavers store director Peter Dodd says: ‘The work that is done by Tommy’s Charity is exceptional, and we’d like to say thank you to everyone that came down to create a fantastic event.

‘It’s always a pleasure to host a fun event for the community in this way, and the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.’

On the day, the store also provided eye tests to visiting children and highlighted the importance of regular check-ups.

Tommy’s Charity offers advice to women who have had miscarriages and offering a place for these women to discuss a very sensitive issue by challenging the stigma that surrounds child loss.
