Warrington based homebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West has replaced its usual plastic milk carton delivery with reusable glass bottles in a step towards reducing plastic waste.
The change will cut plastic bottle waste within the division by approximately 3,900 milk bottles every year.
Research shows that over 150 million tons of plastic is in the ocean today and could increase by an extra 100 million tons in less than a decade if immediate action isn’t taken, and Barratt and David Wilson North West is leading this drive towards change.*

“Changing our milk carton delivery to glass bottles is just one of the many changes we are making in the building industry to safeguard the planet.”
The developer makes an effort to protect the environment across all aspects of the business as 97% of construction waste was recycled in the last financial year (June 2016 – 2017) and over 13.4 hectares of green open space and private gardens were created by the North West division.
28,900 trees and shrubs were also planted on developments across Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside over the course of the year.
