Moody’s ‘double driver of the year’ shortlisted for prestigious industry award

Mark Fisher

An experienced and longstanding member of a North East family-run transport company is in the running for a prestigious national award.

Mark Fisher, who works as Transport Logistics Planner at Cramlington-based Moody Logistics, is a finalist in Talent in Logistics’ 2019 LGV Driver of the Year award.

Talent in Logistics is a leading organisation within the transport industry, which supports the development and recruitment of the 2.2m people working in the UK’s transport, logistics and warehousing sectors. Its awards recognise the achievements of individuals and companies operating across these sectors.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Mark had no previous transport industry experience and funded his own HGV Class 2 qualifications, and he quickly established himself as a key member of Moody’s transport team when he joined the company in 2014 as a multi-drop driver.

In the last 12 months he has developed in the role, completing a Supply Chain Management qualification around his work commitments, which Moody’s supported and funded to help progress his career. It was Mark’s commitment and eagerness in the role that saw him progress to his current position at Moody’s.

Mark, from Seaton Burn, was previously nominated by his colleagues as Moody’s 2018 and 2016 Driver of the Year at the company’s annual awards, for his dedication and exemplary performance, including recording zero accidents and maintaining vehicles to a high standard.

He will now progress to the national final on 27 June in Milton Keynes.

Mark Fisher said: “I am proud to have been named as a finalist, which came as a very pleasant surprise. It is always nice to be recognised for your hard work and this latest achievement builds on my progression with Moody’s into the logistical planning aspect of the company.

“I am excited to represent Moody’s at the final, and hopefully we will be celebrating further success come June.”

Caroline Moody, Managing Director of Moody Logistics, said: “Mark has grown to become an integral part of the Moody’s team, and this latest recognition is fully-deserved. He has achieved so much throughout his relatively short transport career, despite having little industry experience when he joined Moody’s, which is testament to his character and qualities.

“Mark is well-respected among his colleagues and a prime example of the kind of progression people can enjoy within our industry. I’d like to wish Mark all the very best in the final.”
