MRB launches second northern office following investment in Manchester

A Northern building engineering services consultancy has officially opened for business in Manchester, following its recent expansion into the North West.

MRB Consulting engineers, which was set up in 2007 in Yorkshire by former colleagues John McElwee, Mark Roberts and John Blanchard, has launched its building and environmental consultancy services to the Manchester property market, following a stream of North West business wins.

MRB has been appointed as MEP and Sustainability consultants on the new £25m, 137-bedroom Dakota Deluxe Hotel in Manchester City Centre. The project, located at Piccadilly Basin, is currently under construction and on target for completion in Spring 2019. Other North West projects include acting as MEP and BREEAM consultant for Harworth Estates on the North West’s largest live commercial development, Logistics North in Bolton, working with specialist food and beverage production line manufacturer Krones on the refurbishment of their UK head office also in Bolton, Everyman Cinemas on three cinema fit out projects in Altrincham, Metquarter Liverpool and ABC Manchester, and Bruntwood on the latest phase of their Alderley Park development.

The additional base for MRB will bring new job opportunities to the Manchester community, with the company looking to recruit numerous engineers across all grades. Based at 111 Piccadilly, MRB’s Manchester office will be run by Regional Associate Directors, Dan O’Connell and Matt Rangeley.
