New £4.2 Million Health Centre is being developed by Leeds-based healthcare property developer

A new £4.2m Health Centre is being developed by Leeds-based OneMedicalGroup – a leading healthcare property developer with its head office in Yorkshire.

Work is underway, in partnership with Dr Murphy & Partners and QAD architects, to construct a new health centre at the heart of Acklam in Middlesbrough, which will bring state-of-the-art health and wellbeing facilities to the area.

The new site will house Woodlands Road Surgery, which is currently located in the centre of the town, and its existing branch surgery on Acklam Road. Construction has already begun on the new site on Trimdon Avenue and completion is expected in mid-May.

Tim Wilkinson, Head of Property for OneMedicalGroup said, “We are excited to get the construction of this health centre underway with the aim of bringing patients high quality environments that are conducive to positive health and wellbeing.”

Dr Gary Scott and management partner Catherine Hurst are leading on the development on behalf of the Practice and said, “All the partners have worked tirelessly over the past 9 years to secure improved premises and it is exciting to see work start at last. These new premises will bring about a much improved experience for patients and staff alike and will enable us to deliver a wider range of health services for local people”.

The new surgery will be renamed ‘Bluebell Medical Centre’ and will be eco-friendly, incorporating a number of green technologies which will reduce running costs and achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
