New Grey Street Newcastle home for youngsRPS

The youngsRPS team

Chartered surveyors and property consultants, youngsRPS have moved to 23 Grey Street in Newcastle, bolstering their presence in the city’s property market.

In a strategic move to unite their growing commercial property and planning teams, youngsRPS requires a larger, and more prominent, office space following its acquisition of Stanton Mortimer two years ago and an increased demand in services that’s resulted in bringing on board more clients and expanding the team.

Speaking about the firm’s motivations to relocate, Director, Michael Blake said: “While our traditional rural and residential services remain extremely important to us, we have seen significant developments in our commercial work; both from our property and planning sectors. Our planning consultants are moving from Hexham to Newcastle, joining our existing commercial property team.

Despite being relatively small in numbers in comparison to some of the other city centre agents, our team now has over 100 years’ experience within the Tyne and Wear region. As well as bringing new clients on board, we’ve also welcomed new members of the team. Helen Marks has joined us as a planning consultant bringing with her over 20 years’ experience in both the private and public planning sectors. Our new office space allows for further recruitment opportunities to support client growth both now and in the long term.”

youngsRPS is currently working on several major projects, including the recent approval of the development of Strawberry Place at the front of St James’ Park as well as well as the sale of a substantial Nuffield Health Gym investment in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, from a commercial investment portfolio managed by the company. The agent is also selling major residential development land in Ingleby Barwick, which benefits from planning consent for 900 houses, of which the first two phases have already been sold.

Blake continued: “We are, first and foremost, a multi-disciplined consultancy, delivering solutions for commercial, rural and residential clients, something that sets us apart from other agents. Our move to Grey Street not only allows for increased visibility but is a hub for commercial activity and ensures we can offer a greater range of services to our clients across the region.”

Tom Wills, real estate partner at Sintons, supported youngsRPS in the acquisition of the Grey Street premises. The law firm is a longstanding adviser to the business.

Tom added: “Following a period of strong growth for youngsRPS, this prominent and sought-after city centre location will act as a focal point for the continued development of its commercial and residential property, planning and rural work presence in Newcastle and the wider North East. We are delighted to have supported the team on yet another significant transaction for the business which paves the way for further growth.”
