New homes attract buyers to Macclesfield

After just one visit to Bellway’s King’s Quarter development in the vibrant market town of Macclesfield, in Cheshire, Dawn Blyth and Matt Bishop were captivated and chose it as the location for their first home together.

The soon-to-be-married couple had been searching for the perfect place to take their first steps on the property ladder together; originally from Manchester, Dawn had visited Matt’s home town of Macclesfield a number of times and loved the bustling town centre with its attractive mix of independent shops, bars and restaurants and vibrant sense of community.

When the couple discovered that Bellway was building new homes on Westminster Road, less than a mile from the town centre, they immediately went to check it out and were impressed with both the superb location, within walking distance of the heart of Macclesfield, and also the size and layout of the new build homes on offer.

After viewing the show home and chatting to sales advisor Debbie, the couple fell in love with Plot 49; a stunning three bedroom Japonica Alt house type with a south facing garden.

With their hearts set on one specific plot, Debbie advised the couple to use Bellway’s Express Mover scheme to speed up the process and give themselves the best possible chance of securing their dream home. It was the perfect solution, and less than two months later Dawn and Matt were picking up the keys to their new home, moving in late last year just before the second lockdown.

Both are thrilled with the property and settling into their new life in Macclesfield. “We both just love Macclesfield and this development is perfect for us,” said Dawn, “So close to the town centre, yet on the edge of the Peak District allowing easy access to Macclesfield Forest and glorious open countryside and green spaces where we like to go walking.

“We’re also delighted with the house. Lockdown has meant spending a lot of time at home, but we’ve really enjoyed it, relaxing in the open plan kitchen and dining space, cooking and enjoying a glass of wine, and having the doors open onto the garden. Our last property was a traditional two bed mid terrace so this offers so much more flexible well planned living space which has enabled us to live and work from home with ease.”

The new house is also convenient for work; Dawn is a business manager and is usually based in the centre of Manchester so has the option to use the convenient rail service from Macclesfield or drive into the city centre via a number of different routes. She is often required to travel to London and Birmingham too, both of which can be easily reached from Macclesfield station. The property is well placed for Matt too, he is a development scientist and based in Staffordshire now only a short drive away.

Delighted to have made the move to King’s Quarter, Dawn and Matt were also very happy with the advice and support they received from Debbie in the sales office. “Having never done anything like this before, we were apprehensive about the sales process, but thanks to Debbie it was all straightforward and stress-free,” said Dawn, “She expertly answered our many questions and kept us updated on the build and we are so grateful for her knowledge and help with the whole purchase process from start to finish.”

Dawn and Matt are now looking forward to lockdown restrictions easing and inviting friends and family over to see their new home in person and enjoy some much needed family time in their new home.
