New line launched by Leeds luxury jeweler brand

A jewellery designer who specialises in creating individually handcrafted items is gearing up to launch her newest collection.

Rachel Elizabeth Wood will be launching the latest collection of her line of the same name in August. Since launching in 2012 Leeds-based entrepreneur Rachel has become one of the leading international contemporary British jeweller/silversmiths with her innovative designs.

Rachel said: “I have a fantastic team and we are proud of our reputation. Every item of jewellery is individually handcrafted in our studio using the finest materials and traditional techniques. Each piece combines British style and contemporary design with a dash of eccentricity.”

Rachel grew up on a farm and her work is inspired by her love of the British countryside. Her award winning work has been featured in both The British Museum and The V&A.

Rachel said: “It’s exciting designing new collections and I am lucky as it is something that comes very naturally to me. I love thinking outside the box and sitting down with an empty sketch book and filling it with ideas. My new collection is inspired by my love of equestrian sports, my father was a professional show jumper and I could probably ride before I could walk. Horses have been a huge part of my life.”

The new collection called ‘Pretty Cheval’, meaning pretty horse, is inspired by blanket garlands which are draped over the necks of winning horses. In addition to the collections, Rachel also offers individual appointments to design and create timeless bespoke investment pieces for customers to treasure.

To support her expanding business, Rachel joined the Entrepreneurial Spark Powered by NatWest programme based at the Headrow, Leeds. Entrepreneurial Spark is the world’s largest free business accelerator and provides a unique training programme focused on developing the right mind-set and behaviours needed to become a successful entrepreneur through enablement, mentoring and development support. This includes support from partners including KPMG, Dell Technologies and Pinsent Masons.

Rachel said: Entrepreneurial Spark Powered by NatWest has been a good way for me to network and develop business relationships. My UK business has grown and we have seen rapid growth through our export business. One of the many exciting projects we have going on at the moment is our working with NatWest’s sister bank Coutts who have agreed to work with us and promote our products.”

Melissa Hulme, Entrepreneur Development Manager at NatWest, said: Rachel has created a fantastic business with Rachel Elizabeth Wood offering unique products that are proving popular across the globe. We look forward to seeing her new collection and wish her every success for the future.”
