Newcastle Building Society Reopens Upgraded Gosforth Branch

The upgraded Gosforth branch of the North East’s biggest building society has reopened its doors to customers ahead of schedule.

Newcastle Building Society has created an enhanced, open plan branch on Gosforth High Street as part of a continuing multi-million pound investment programme across the whole of its branch network.

The refurbished 1,400 sq ft branch provides Society customers with better access to services, information and advice, as well as additional space for their transactions.

A community area also forms part of the new design, which offers a free space in which local people, groups and good causes can hold meetings and events.

The new branch has now reopened a week earlier than originally planned, and a special Christmas-themed official opening event will then follow between 2pm and 430pm on Thursday 13 December.

Santa Claus will be paying a special visit to the new branch, giving presents to children including money boxes, chocolates, sweets, stationery and five pound vouchers they can use to open their own regular saver accounts, while there will also be will also be carol singers performing, a stall selling Christmas gifts and free refreshments for everyone.

Stuart Miller, customer director of Newcastle Building Society, said: “We’re continuing to invest in offering our members a modern branch network that sits right at the heart of their communities.

“Work at our Gosforth branch has progressed really well over the last few weeks and we’re pleased to be reopening our doors to customers old and new earlier than we originally planned.

“Our Gosforth branch team is looking forward to welcoming everyone into their enhanced new branch, and we’re certain everyone will be impressed by what they see.”
