Having opened an office in Dumfries, Scotland, at the end of 2018, Newcastle upon Tyne headquartered Activ Technology has shown its appetite for business growth by providing IT support services for the much-loved Big Burns Supper Festival which takes place in the town each year.
Burns suppers are held throughout the world and they celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796).
Dumfries Big Burns Supper runs for 11 days from 24 January – 03 February and includes shows and events for all the family presented in a range of pubs, taverns, galleries and museums, including an 800 capacity Speigeltent, which attracts international performers and audiences.
Big Burns Supper is the world’s largest Burns celebration, based in Dumfries the final resting place of Robbie Burns, as well as being a living museum to his memory. His favourite pub, The Globe, is within walking distance of the Spiegeltent and the farm he built is on the outskirts of the town.

“We have donated several PCs which will assist in putting a scanning system ticket office in place and enable social wi-fi to reach over 2,000 people.
“Where we can, we look to invest in, and support, local initiatives. Big Burns Supper is a much loved and iconic festival in Dumfries and it is fantastic knowing we have played our part in allowing a mass audience to enjoy a shared passion for the arts and entertainment.”
