A leading Yorkshire law firm has confirmed the purchase of a 1.4-acre site in a North Yorkshire village, with development now underway for residential housing.

Shulmans LLP, acting on behalf of Cromsdale Property Group, assisted on the successful completion of the purchase of the Pickhill site near Thirsk.

The site has planning permission for five luxury detached houses. The village boasts Pickhill Primary School, a 12th century church, a village green and a children’s play area. The cathedral city of Ripon and market town of Thirsk are 15 minutes away and offer a wide range of shops and services. The A1(M) is within easy reach of Pickhill, providing convenient access to Leeds, York and the North East.

Construction has now started, with the first homes ready for occupation in early 2019.

Mark Whitehead, Managing Director at Cromsdale Property Group, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of this transaction. This development will complement the local area and responds to the demand for more family housing. We are delivering a range of high quality, highly specified housing in a very picturesque rural setting.

“We chose to draw upon the expertise of Shulmans LLP as a leading real estate firm. The team has been incredibly proactive in providing invaluable advice and guidance to enable the successful completion of the deal.”

Dawn Carlisle, Partner in the Shulmans Commercial Property unit, said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase on behalf of Cromsdale Property Group. It is fantastic that the housing development will contribute to the growth of the Pickhill local community.”
