Award-winning housebuilder Bellway continues to support the local community in Northwich, donating £350 to Northwich Rowing Club.
The Club, which is located close to Bellway’s Rose Meadow development on London Road, was founded in 1875 and prides itself on being a fun, fair and friendly place for all ages to come and learn to row.
With approximately 60 juniors (aged 13 – 18) attending Northwich Rowing Club every week, its fleet of boats requires regular maintenance. Bellway’s donation will be used by the Club for the upkeep of this fleet, ensuring the boats are in excellent condition.
Based on the River Weaver, Northwich Rowing Club caters for those wishing to row and simply enjoy the water, as well as competitions and regattas, and is run by qualified volunteer coaches.
Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway, says: “It’s great to see young people being active and Northwich Rowing Club provides the opportunity to exercise in the fresh air and enjoy the river. We are committed to supporting the local community and are delighted to be able to help towards the upkeep of the junior fleet.”
Graham Jump, Chair at Northwich Rowing Club, adds: “We want as many young people in the area to give rowing a try and to facilitate that we need a large fleet of boats and plenty of equipment. Maintaining our fleet is costly so we are very grateful for Bellway’s donation. The rowing community is hugely appreciative and its great to see goodwill and kind gestures from local businesses.”
