Leeds-based data services company, The Data Shed, has celebrated another successful year by expanding its offices to accommodate its growing numbers of staff. Local MP, Hilary Benn, performed the duty of cutting a ribbon to officially open the new office.
Rapid growth over the last three years has seen staff numbers increase from 6 to a projected 46 by the end of 2019. The Data Shed have now taken another floor of Mabgate Mills to accommodate the expansion in staff numbers.
Set up in 2014 by CEO Anna Sutton and CTO Ed Thewlis, the firm provides data consultancy services to a range of local and international clients. This month also sees the launch of new product, The Data Refinery, the company’s first self-service single customer view.
Clients include Yorkshire companies such as Loans at Home and Hermes, as well as national and international brands such as the Tate Gallery, Friends of the Earth, and Australian airline Qantas. The company has also recently won a major contract with the national gambling self-exclusion service, GAMSTOP.
Commenting on the growth, Anna said:
“We’re really pleased to be working with a number of great clients, offering bespoke data consultancy and products. We’re even more pleased to be able to employ so many talented people and becoming a fast-growing part of the Leeds tech sector.
This year, we took on our first two graduates from the Northcoders coding academy, offering them their first jobs in tech. We’re looking forward to bringing in more new talent as we continue to grow”
