Business urged to help raise £30,000 for children’s hospice with Snowdon trek

Businesses are being encouraged to help raise £30,000 for a charity that cares for seriously ill youngsters from Cheshire. Teams will walk to the summit of Snowdon on July 1to raise much-needed funds for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices, which provide care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from Cheshire and Shropshire plus North and Mid Wales. Organisers of the event are hoping to recruit around 300 walkers to raise at least £30,000, to help towards the running costs of the charity - it needs £6.3 million every year to keep the two hospices open.

A business entrepreneur is aiming to expand her company after swapping working in noisy cafes for her own purpose-built meeting room and office. Catherine Williams, founder of Popcats Music Time singing and dancing classes for pre-school children, is now rolling out franchises around north west England, with plans to open soon in Liverpool. She ran the business from home, holding meetings in cafes and other public venues but became frustrated by the lack of privacy and space. So she decided to create an office and meeting room in the garden of her Wirral home. Thanks to Rubicon Garden Rooms, the 41-year-old can now sit down with clients and franchisees in a “professional” office space rather than having to travel to meet them at busy coffee shops.
