Peter Duffy Ltd, the civil engineering company headquartered in Wakefield, is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a family-owned business, which today employs 180 local people across its sites in Yorkshire.
Established by Peter (Senior) and his wife Carmel Duffy in 1972, the organisation has grown to become a multi-disciplined civil engineering business.
Across its sites, the business now incorporates highways, groundworks, structural projects, utilities and dedicated rail operations into the services it provides clients. It also offers plant hire and drainage, with a specialist division, DrainsAid.
With a focus on the future, the company has recently re-evaluated its corporate vision and reiterated its commitment to its people and sustainability. Supported by the company’s values and objectives, the next chapter will be dedicated to its service offering, excellent health, safety and employee welfare, and environmental credentials.

With plans to move to new offices in Wakefield, Peter Duffy will also place greater emphasis on training and developing staff and has also invested heavily in a new business system to monitor progress and improvements across the business.
