Pickerings Lifts joins Help for Heroes in the force for good

Pickerings Lifts staff present cheque to Help for Heroes representative.

Generous staff at Pickerings Lifts have helped raise money for Help for Heroes, the national charity that supports wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their families.

A grand total of £1,160 was raised in December 2018 through a festive raffle for staff, alongside a Christmas jumper day and Christmas craft fair.

Staff at Pickerings Lifts voted to support Help for Heroes as a number of them served in the military, or have family members who have.

A group of staff from Pickerings Lifts went to the Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick Garrison to hand over the cheque and find out more about the services Help for Heroes provides. These include a huge variety of courses and activities designed to benefit the psychological and physical wellbeing of beneficiaries as part of their road to recovery.

Rob Colgrave, Help for Heroes area fundraising manager, accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity. He said:
“We’d like to thank the staff across the country for their support and we look forward to working with them in the future.

“Since the Charity was founded in 20017, it has supported 21,000 individuals but our pledge is to support them for life. To enable us to do that, we need the help of communities and organisations like Pickerings Lifts.”
