PPSPower expands operations to generate further success

[adrotate group="2"]

PPSPower, the national provider of back-up power and service maintenance solutions, has expanded its operations following a successful period of growth, placing the company firmly at the forefront of the FM market.

Since 1956, PPSPower has been a trusted supplier of back-up power solutions. Previously trading as Powerplant Services and the Progress Group, in 2014 the two companies came together to form PPSPower. The company now operates a full nationwide service, with dedicated generator and UPS departments and a team of nationally deployed engineers based across England and Wales, with a dedicated depot in Scotland.

Following a strategic restructure, PPSPower announced the appointment of Brian Cosheril as its new service director. Brian joins the company’s board of directors having previously performed the role of service manager for Progress Group, a business acquired by PPSPower in 2014.

Brian brings to the role more than 40 years’ experience in manufacturing and engineering industries. He will be supported by an engineering team consisting of two service managers, with further lead engineer appointments to be confirmed in the near future.

Stephen Peal, managing director of PPSPower, said: “After a highly successful 12 months of business I’m delighted to announce Brian Cosheril’s appointment to the board of directors. Brian’s appointment will support our new company structure which has been put in place to help us achieve our strategic goals, including raising brand awareness to make PPSPower the ‘go to’ provider for back-up power within the FM market.”

Based at a headquarters in Sherburn-in-Elmet, PPSPower provides a full ‘turnkey’ service for stand-by power systems including decommissioning and removal of existing equipment, any associated mechanical and electrical works, installation of digital control systems and full generator commissioning and testing. Working carefully with customers in a variety of critical sectors, the company develops cost-effective solutions that maximise the reliability of their back-up power systems.

The company also benefits from being part of a wider group of power solutions companies; its sister company YorPower distributes generators worldwide, while control and automation company Glenace and generator sales company Generator Warehouse further complement and strengthen the service offering.

Stephen Peal said: “We’re delighted to be restructuring the business to support our ongoing growth, and the success of the last 12 months is testament to the hard work of our teams. We continue to service clients in a variety of critical sectors, from retail and healthcare to commercial and education facilities. Our dedicated approach to customer services has been important in establishing our reputation as a leading provider of back-up power services.

“Key to our success has been our approach to bringing young talent through the business. Our apprenticeship programme has seen several team members grow into more senior positions. To balance this, we also employ members with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. We believe our new team structure will help drive further success for us as we look to expand our customer base and cement our position as a leader in our industry.”
