David Thomas, Chief Executive at Barratt Developments PLC, recently visited Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West division to celebrate the region’s success and present two of its employees with prestigious awards.

The visit included tours of some of the region’s most successful developments including St Oswald’s View in Methley, Salter’s Brook in Cudworth and Evolution in Waverley, with the awards presentation taking place at Ashmeade Park in Pontefract. David presented Gabriel Lynch, Buying Apprentice, with the Individual of the Year title, while Ricky Booth was awarded the region’s Site Manager of the Year title.

Gabriel joined Barratt Developments in July 2016 and works within the buying department, where he is responsible for managing the supply and forecast of materials. His award was peer nominated, and was a testament to his dedication and hard work for the company. Ricky Booth, who has worked at Barratt Developments for 11 years, was awarded Site Manager of the Year, to highlight the excellence in which he runs his site, Ashmeade Park in Pontefract. His awarded comes hot on the heels of his Pride in the Job award which he won in June, as a result of his ongoing impeccable standards and the fantastic team he has built.

Ricky commented: “I am delighted to have been awarded Site Manager of the Year for Yorkshire West. I have a fantastic team around me, who are truly professional, ambitious and have a work manner that is second to none – this award is a result of collaboration and excellent teamwork and is really a success for the whole team to share. It was an honour to be awarded the title by our Chief Executive, David Thomas, and brilliant for him to visit so we could show him round Ashmeade Park and show him the results of our hard work.”

David added: “It was great to visit the Yorkshire West region and tour the new homes and communities that we are building there. It gave me enormous pleasure to congratulate both Ricky and Gabriel and hand out their very well deserved awards. We try to ensure that the hard work of our employees is always recognised, which was the point of the visit. To be peer nominated makes the awards special too so we’re delighted for them both.”
