Pugata Jewellery donate diamond worth £1,500 for charity ball

West-Yorkshire-based homelessness charity, Simon on the Streets has partnered with a luxury jeweller to present one attendee of its annual Rough Diamond Ball, with a genuine diamond worth £1,500.

Batley-based jeweller, Pugata has donated the diamond to Simon on the Streets’ charity raffle which will take place at its event on 13th June 2019.

One lucky winner will be selected on the night and gifted with the diamond, which can then be turned into a piece of jewellery of their choosing.

Set up in 1999, Simon On the Streets is a registered charity that tackles the behavioural issues and mental illnesses that result in homelessness and addiction.

Tickets for the raffle at the Rough Diamond Ball cost just £60, with discounted group bookings, and all funds raised go towards the charity which offers street-based, emotional and practical support to homeless people who cannot access mainstream services.

Simon on the Streets’ development manager, Fahad Khan said:

“We’re so delighted to have partnered with Pugata and absolutely thrilled at the support they have provided us with which has allowed us to continue to run our annual Rough Diamond Ball. The event itself will be a fantastic one and we can’t wait to find out who the lucky winner of the diamond will be.”

Pugata is a bespoke jeweller founded in Yorkshire in 2015. The business upholds an ethical way of working, adhering to the Kimberley process for diamonds, which ensures all precious stones are ethically sourced.

CEO of Pugata, Zak Patel added:
“We are delighted and feel privileged to be able to support Simon on the Streets for this event. The nature of our industry and the types of products we design, manufacture and retail means that when we see our clients, it’s usually at a special and joyous time, whether it’s an engagement, wedding or an anniversary.

“Our clients are at a positive and momentous place in their lives and come to us when they want something for a loved one or for themselves to celebrate and remember the occasion. Supporting a charity such as Simon on the Streets helps us to remain grounded, acknowledge what’s important in life and support those less fortunate than us at Pugata and our clients.

“The type of work Simon on the Streets does on a daily basis with those in need of help and support, who may feel alone, neglected and abandoned in our local communities meets the values which we hold dear at Pugata. Being able to give something back means a great deal to us.

“We look forward meeting all of the other partners who are supporting this incredible and important work and hope that together we can help Simon on the Streets support even more people.”
