Recruitment company with an 80,000 strong workforce champions the everyday ‘Wonder Women’

Short term recruitment specialists, RedWigWam are celebrating International Women’s Day by championing the everyday ‘Wonder Women’ and sharing stories of how flexible working has transformed some of its workers lives.

Lorna Davidson, Founder and CEO of RedWigWam comments: “I believe in celebrating the successes of women in all aspects of life and want to see hardworking women being recognised as a norm rather than a rarity.

“International Women’s Day isn’t just about championing women doing life changing things – there are lots of women out their doing their best and we need to be helping women support each other.”

Offering flexible working conditions is now a key way to gain employee’s respect, whilst increasing productivity and happiness at work. More and more businesses are waving goodbye to the standard 9-5 culture and changing their attitudes towards flexible working.

RedWigWam worker Jayne, comments: “Since leaving my job to become a full-time mum to my daughter, I missed the independence of earning my own money. RedWigWam has given me the opportunity to contribute to the household bills and to treat my daughter to swimming lessons, days out and ice cream dates! What more could we ask for?”

Other RedWigWam ‘Wonder Women’ noted that being able to do flexible jobs when it suits them, meant they have been able to balance being a single working mother and even save for a house deposit.

Lorna adds: “International Women’s Day goes much further than just a hashtag on social media, society needs to view it as a call to action – how can we make a real change and help switch attitudes?

“At RedWigWam we are passionate about equality, all our workers are paid the same rate in every instance, regardless of gender and jobs are recommended to whoever has the most relevant experience or interest in that industry. We also encourage all of the employers we work with to instil this attitude in their workplace.”

Lorna will be speaking at the Liverpool Commonwealth Association: International Women’s Day Forum on Friday 8th March.
