Restaurant delivers a great pizza publicity in support of Ovenu Warrington

A restaurant is hoping to serve up a little extra custom for oven valeting specialists Ovenu Warrington.

Delgados Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant is supporting owners Paul and Andrea Clark by including the company’s advertising leaflets in its takeaway delivery and collection orders.

In return Paul cleaned the Honiton Way restaurant’s ovens to ensure its range of pizzas and Italian-inspired dishes continue to be cooked to perfection.

Owner Julie, who has run Delgados with partner Robert for the past 13 years, said: “We are unable to operate as a restaurant due to the current restrictions, but we are permitted to open our kitchen on an evening to serve takeaway food, which is vital for the business.


“We heard that after closing in March, Ovenu Warrington had reopened and we offered to help get the word out to households in the area.”

Paul added: “This is a great example of two local businesses supporting one another through difficult times. Delgados is publicising the fact that we have reopened and in return I’ve carried out a complimentary oven valet as part of a cleaning regime that has earned them a five-star hygiene rating.”

Ovenu Warrington reopened last week and is already fully booked until the middle of June, with both new and returning customers.

Paul, a former nurse and social worker and Andrea, a former primary school learning manager, emphasise that the valeting process can be carried out with minimal or zero client contact.

They are accepting bookings at their discretion, with the strict stipulation that both parties observe the two-metre social distancing rule, along with guidelines on hygiene and cleanliness. PPE may also be worn.

Paul added: “I, along with many other tradespeople across the North West temporarily mothballed my business when lockdown was imposed – a very difficult thing to do when it is your livelihood.

“Since then, I’ve been preparing to re-open at the right time with the appropriate measures in place. My priority is to keep ourselves and our clients safe.”
