Huddersfield solicitors Ridley and Hall are the latest business to offer their legal expertise to the winner of the KC Communications Huddersfield start-up competition. Due to this, KC Communications are extending the deadline of the competition from Thursday 14th February to Thursday 21st February at 5pm.

The competition will support one Huddersfield-based start-up in their next year of business by providing pro bono specialist services. The aim is to encourage start-ups to remain trading in the town to enhance Huddersfield’s economy.

The competition currently consists of 12-months’ pro bono marketing and PR support from KC Communications; a 12-month pro bono business coaching package from Natasha McCreesh of PiP to Grow Strong; a business risk analysis session from business recovery specialists Poppleton and Appleby plus an initial session with Sheards Accountants to establish accountancy requirements.

David Amies of Ridley and Hall commented “Ridley & Hall was excited to hear about the new business start-up project and wanted to get involved. As a Huddersfield based law firm with specialist commercial solicitors, we want to help the local economy to prosper and to build close working relationships with the next generation of business leaders.”

Katrina Cliffe, founder of KC Communications commented “It is fantastic that this initiative has brought together Huddersfield businesses in such a way to support local entrepreneurship. We are delighted to have an established Huddersfield business such as Ridley and Hall on board.”

To qualify, organisations must operate from a HD postcode and be trading for less than three years with under £250,000 per year turnover. Organisations can apply through the KC Communications’ website.
