Sheffield law firm helping employers with workplace discrimination

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is equipping local employers with the tools to tackle discrimination in the workplace.

Tom Draper, head of employment law, is inviting businesses to a free seminar, offering practical advice on how to avoid the various types of discrimination encountered by staff.

Held at the Crucible Theatre on May 18, the breakfast event will highlight in detail the fundamentals of discrimination law, addressing recent developments and changes. It will also look at the impact of Brexit and new legislation, including gender pay gap reporting.

Tom said: “Unlawful discrimination is complex and covers everything from equal pay to harassment, victimisation and failure to make reasonable adjustments. As it is often unintended or subconscious, it can be difficult to prevent, which is why we want to provide people managers and HR professionals with in depth knowledge of this ever-changing area of law. This will enable them to spot potential discrimination and act quickly and effectively when allegations are made.”

Taylor&Emmet’s free seminar will run from 8am to 10am. It includes breakfast, plus an opportunity for delegates to network and ask questions of the firm’s employment law experts. Places are limited, so early booking is advised.
