South Yorkshire law firm raises thousands for charity

Cavendish Cancer Care South Yorkshire

Solicitors Wosskow Brown has raised almost £7,000 for three South Yorkshire based charities: Barnsley Hospice, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Cavendish Cancer Care

Wosskow Brown raised the money through a variety of events; including: a firework display at Wentworth Woodhouse, a Charity Sports Quiz Night at Genting Casino and even two ‘Free Will Months’, in which Wosskow Brown provided a basic Will at a donation price where all proceeds went towards the charity.

Emilda Morgans, Partner and Head of CSR at Wosskow Brown, said: “To be able to help charities such as these three is a tremendous honour.

“The work they do is incredibly important, and with our contribution, we hope to help them all provide the great service they do to even more people who need it.”

The three charities, who will each receive £2,240 are:

Barnsley Hospice is a charity providing specialist care to hundreds of local people every year from all over Barnsley. The care provided aims to improve quality of life for patients suffering with active and progressive life-limiting illnesses such as Cancer, Heart Disease or Parkinson’s.

Cavendish Cancer Care supports local people who are living with cancer. The charity gives them and their families the chance to talk in confidence and receive complementary therapies to support their recovery.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice cares for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. They currently support around 250 families, both in their own homes and at their hospice in North Anston, Sheffield.

Wosskow Brown’s new chosen charity is Support Dogs, a national charity dedicated to increasing independence and quality of life for people with various medical conditions through the training and support of specialist assistance dogs.
