South Yorkshire solicitor takes top national award

Reece Suter (in white shirt) receive his National Young Conveyancer of the Year Award

A solicitor at Sheffield law firm PM Property Lawyers has won a prestigious national award. Reece Suter was awarded the Law Firm Services (LFS) Young Conveyancer of the Year prize, taking both the regional (North) and the national prize.

The LFS awards are the top industry prizes for the conveyancing profession and the Young Conveyancer Award is particularly hard fought. Entrants go through a rigorous selection process with a lengthy application form and judge’s phone call. The judges were clearly impressed with Reece’s dedication to his clients and enthusiasm for his work.

Reece chose to work in property law because it offers the opportunity to make a real difference to clients. After receiving his awards he commented:

“It’s an absolute honour to win the Young Conveyancer Award. The application process is very demanding and it really made me think about what it takes to be an exceptional conveyancer. In an increasingly litigious world, we have to use all of our skills to protect our clients, both financially and practically. I see it as my role to look into all aspects of a transaction to make sure it’s in the client’s best interests; this is the aspect of my job that I really enjoy.”

Also on the shortlist for the Young Conveyancer Award was fellow property lawyer, Sarah Thackray. Sarah, from Barnsley, joined PM Property Lawyers as an admin assistant and has progressed through the in-house training programme to become a property lawyer in her own right.

Managing Director, Harvey Harding (who himself was Highly Commended in the Individual Conveyancer category), was delighted with the result.

“Reece fully deserves this recognition. He is an excellent property lawyer and absolutely committed to doing the right things for his clients. For both him and Sarah to make the shortlist was a real achievement and I am incredibly proud that we have such talented people as part of our team.”
