Storthes Hall Park near Huddersfield has unveiled a host of new events at the landmark venue for the summer, aimed at putting the historic house and grounds firmly on the tourist and business map.
The impressive country house is kicking off the 2019 summer season with its very first Open Wedding Day on April 28 where staff are expecting to welcome hundreds of happy couples and relatives. As well as the venue itself there will also be a host of hand-picked businesses and supplier displays from across the region.
Guests will have time to explore the house and 44-acre grounds. A live DJ, harpist, make-up and botox artists, bridalwear, wedding cakes, vintage cars and photographers will be there on the day. There will also be a floristry demonstration, hand tying and broom jumping ceremonies and cocktail sampling.
Storthes Hall Park Events and Commercial Manager Mandy White said: “We have a really versatile space in beautiful grounds and bookings for this year and into 2020 are already at an all-time high.”
The versatility of the venue is demonstrated only days later when a charity fashion show is being held at Storthes Hall Park for the local children’s Hospice Forget Me Not. Just three days after that and the estate throws opens its gates to welcome families for a Fun Farm Day on May 12 to meet & greet a host of furry and feathered friends.
Storthes Hall itself dates back to the 18th century having been used as a private residence as well as a hospital, before being reinvented as an event space and wedding venue. It is also growing its corporate events offering with versatile conference and team building packages. It enjoyed an extensive refurbishment in 2017 and has since seen guest numbers steadily increase across its growing range of indoor and outdoor events since then.
