Swinton site manager wins first Pride in the Job award

Harry McEvoy

A site manager working at Bellway’s The Brackens development off Campbell Road in Swinton has received a prestigious National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job award.

Harry McEvoy, from Fazackerley, received the award for excellence in on site management at The Brackens, a development of stylish three and four bedroom homes.

Harry, who has over 40 years’ experience in construction, has worked for Bellway for four years. This is his first Pride in the Job award.

The NHBC Pride in the Job award, which has been established for over 40 years, recognises and rewards the industry’s very best performers and is an accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges are looking for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality award winning site managers apart from the rest.

On receiving this award, Harry said: “Being recognised by the NHBC for excellence on site and delivering some of the highest quality homes is a great achievement. I am ecstatic!

“It has been a year of continuous hard work and determination, but my commitment has paid off and I am so pleased to have won my first Pride in the Job award. I have hit the ground running and have already started working towards next year’s accolade.”

Construction director at Bellway, Paul Wright, adds: “Harry is an incredibly experienced site manager and has done an incredible job on site at The Brackens. This award is testament to his excellent standards, professional management style and clear leadership skills. Only 450 site managers across the UK (out of 11,000) are selected to receive a Pride in the Job award, so we are very proud of Harry for this achievement.”
