Tailor-Made Media Take On Tough Mudder To Raise Money For Cancer Research

Team Tailor-Made all smiles and looking squeaky-clean before Tough Mudder this July

Members of staff from a York-based digital agency, are getting ready to tackle the notoriously gruelling, Tough Mudder, in aid of Cancer Research this month.

Everyone from Tailor- Made Media, based at the York Science Park, will attempt the challenge that sees participants get wet and muddy whilst undertaking a series of demanding obstacles, at The Broughton Hall Estate in Skipton on the 27th July.
The team want to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. The charity works to fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer.

“Tough Mudder is the ultimate test of endurance and not like any other so-called “fun run”. We are looking forward to getting together to experience the famous Tough Mudder camaraderie, but every single person in the team is dreading it a bit! Comments CEO and Founder of Tailor- Made Media, Samantha Ware.

“As a team we are actively encouraging each other to get fit in preparation for the event. Sit ups in front of Coronation Street, extra sessions at the gym or even doing a boot-camp on a weekend, you name it we are trying it!

“Every single person in our team has been affected by cancer in some way. Most recently my sister, Laura who works in Finance and I, unfortunately lost our mum in November last year after a long, hard-fought battle with Cancer. She was only 63.

“As a team we want to come together to support the life-saving research undertaken by Cancer Research UK. The charity receives no government funding, so relies solely on fundraising and volunteering.

For the year our fundraising target is £5,000. The more we raise for Cancer Research UK, the more we can help play our part, in helping fund vital work.”

Tough Mudder is an endurance event series in which participants attempt 13 obstacle courses, across 5K that test mental and physical strength. Once participants have crossed the finish-line they are invited to celebrate with their team, enjoy live music, fitness challenges and more, in the “Mudder Village”.
