Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is receiving national recognition for the high-quality work its wills and probate solicitors deliver and their engagement with clients.

The firm is one of three from the north of England – and the only one from Yorkshire – shortlisted in the Solicitor Firm of the Year (Regional) category at this year’s British Wills and Probate Awards.

Organised by Today’s Wills and Probate magazine, the award recognises the achievements of solicitors who show professionalism, innovation, courage and patience. This year will also celebrate the work the sector is doing to deliver important services in unprecedented conditions.

The firms competing against Taylor&Emmet include Manchester’s Hugh Jones Solicitors and Oliver and Co. of Chester. The winner will be announced at a virtual ceremony on October 22, hosted by journalist, Jennie Bond.

Richard King, head of Taylor&Emmet’s wills and probate department, said: “We worked very hard to adapt to the challenging circumstances forced upon us by the coronavirus pandemic and found innovative ways to ensure local people had access to our expert advice throughout lockdown. It is an honour to have our efforts deemed worthy of national recognition and after being shortlisted in this category in 2018, we look forward to flying the flag again for Yorkshire at the finals.”

Taylor&Emmet’s wills and probate team is one of the largest of its type in Yorkshire and the Humber and has 29 permanent staff, based at four of the firm’s five offices across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
