TechTrade Yorkshire launched for September 2016

Tech Trade Yorkshire 2016

Registration is open for the inaugural TechTrade Yorkshire (TY16) event, which will take place on 8 September at Elland Road, Leeds.

Set to focus on how tech can transform organisations’ productivity, efficiency and innovation, this free one day programme will welcome senior IT professionals from throughout the region, whether they have digital responsibility for a microbusiness or a multinational.

Keynote speaker James Akrigg, Head of Technology for Partners at Microsoft will take to the stage to talk about how organisations can achieve more with technology – an enabler for modern working. Further speakers include Vince Sparks, IT Director of Eddie Stobart; David Warburton-Broadhurst, CIO of Metronet UK; Dr Adam Beaumont, CEO and Founder of AQL; Dylan Roberts, Chief Digital Officer at Leeds City Council; and Richard Carter, Chief Executive of Nostrum Group.

The knowledge-based seminars and 10 minute WIFLE (What I Feel Like Expressing) sessions will run alongside an exhibition hosting around 50 tech specialists. Brands from the world of big data, cybercrime, cloud computing, telecoms, process automation and beyond, will showcase their products and services, with The Intellectual Property Office, Media Yorkshire, Blue Logic and Manchester-headquartered Godel Technologies among the names already confirmed.

TY16 is the brainchild of Mooncas, the team behind the successful Manufactured Yorkshire which took place in May. Founder Chrissie Gale comments on the plans for the sister TechTrade event: “Yorkshire is fast becoming renowned for its digital prowess, with some of the country’s most prolific technological talent based here in the region. This event is designed to bring that community together, to help unlock Yorkshire’s further potential for growth.

“We don’t just want to look at IT from a functional or compliance perspective. We want to highlight its potential to fuel the much-discussed Northern Powerhouse. James Akrigg is therefore one of many speakers we look forward to welcoming to TY16 as part of our goal to see Yorkshire’s tech future, today.”

With some speaking opportunities, WIFLE slots, sponsorship packages and exhibition booths still available, there is still time to get involved.

Chrissie summarises: “Delegate registration is free, so I encourage IT professionals and those with a role in the sector, to put the date in their diary. This is a really focused programme, dedicated to skills and knowledge development within this arena.”
