The Broadway, Bradford will throw open its doors this Saturday for Bradford’s most spectacular free event of the year, The Festive Launch, to mark the annual Christmas light switch on. An all-day (10am-7pm), fun packed event, this year’s Festive Launch is set to be bigger than ever.

The Centre is welcoming an exciting line up of VIP guests and performers including Love Island star, Michael Griffiths who will be chatting with the crowd between 2pm-4pm about his experience in the villa this summer. The Broadway is also offering one lucky fan the chance to win an exclusive meet and greet with Michael and a £50 gift card. For a chance to win, fans need to comment on the competition post on the Centre’s Instagram page.

X Factor 2017 winners , Rak-Su, will be performing live from the Centre at 5:20pm followed by the legendary Heather Small from M People at 6:05pm.

Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, Bradford said: “We are delighted to be hosting such a spectacular event at The Broadway and look forward to welcoming families from the area to celebrate the start of Bradford’s Christmas festivities.


“Last year’s event attracted 52,000 visitors and with so much talent already confirmed, it promises to be another night to remember. We’ll also be running a series of on-stage competitions to give away some great prizes, so it’s not one to be missed.

“We’re proud to be part of the Sparkling Bradford initiative, encompassing festive events across the Bradford district and highlighting the region as a key destination this season. Working alongside key partners such as Bradford Council, Made in Bradford, University of Bradford and Bradford Bid, we aim to capture the imagination of the district and increase footfall from residents and visitors into city venues and destinations.”

Amongst the celebrity appearances, The Festive Pitch Battle will welcome eight local school choirs to perform from 10.30am to a judging panel for the chance to be crowned Bradford’s best choir of 2019. The winning choir will be announced on stage at 1.45pm and awarded £1,000 for their chosen charity which will be presented on the day from General Manager at The Broadway, Ian Ward.

Local cheerleaders, The Bradford Bulls Bullettes, will be kicking off the action with an exclusive routine from 10am followed by performances from dance troupe, Articulate, The Bradford Playhouse and show stopping magician, Sebastian Walton.

Exciting performances, appearances and activities will take place throughout the night followed by a live countdown for Bradford’s Christmas light switch on at 6.30pm.

The Festive Launch will be free to all attendees and guests are able to turn up at any point throughout the day.
