Towngate completes extensive refurbishment and rebrand of Woodvale Office Park

Commercial lettings specialist and landlord Towngate PLC has completed the impressive refurbishment and rebrand of Woodvale Office Park in Brighouse.

The estate — located close to Junction 25 of the M62 — is a modern office park situated within a landscaped setting. The office suites have been refurbished to a high standard and currently accommodate medical and sporting organisations, along with a team of structural engineers, a professional IT company, a registered charity, and a recruitment agency — as well as the 14-strong team at Towngate PLC.

The Park is on the site of the original Woodvale Silk Mill and to this day, Parkview House and Oak House are central to the area, with additional new buildings in place including Woodvale House which was built in the early 1990s.

The estate welcomed Prince Charles — among other distinguished guests — to its doors in 1991 to unveil a plaque at Parkview House.

Parkview House has been dramatically modernised while maintaining many of its original features — including exposed internal brickwork throughout. In addition, a large vintage-style exposed bulb lamp — acting as a primary feature of the property — can be seen in the surrounding area through the striking arched window at the entrance.

Woodvale House has also undergone a considerable renovation, and in the case of both buildings, the works have included external redecoration, new toilet and shower facilities, internal redecoration, and fresh carpeting throughout.

Towngate’s brief was to represent the heritage of the site whilst maintaining a modern theme, which has been met through the use of the 1880 date of construction for the Silk Mill and a logo incorporating one of the original buildings, taken from a blueprint of the initial plans for the structure — provided by local historian, Chris Helme.

The rebranding has extended to all literature associated with the estate, with new totem and wayfinding signage throughout.

Speaking of the transformation, Towngate’s marketing manager, Julia Ford added: “Following the difficulties encountered in the height of the pandemic, it seems many local businesses are making optimistic plans for the future — looking to expand and relocate, which in turn is leading to a renewed buoyancy within the office market. In light of this, we’re anticipating an exciting new chapter for our organisation.”

The motorway network at Junction 25 of the M62 is just 1.5 miles away from the Park, granting easy access to Liverpool, Manchester, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, and Hull. The surrounding parklands create a relaxing place to work, with close proximity to Brighouse Swimming Pool, gym and fitness facilities, local eateries, independent shops, and several supermarkets.

The site also now benefits from electric car charging points and lockable bicycle facilities.
