Shoppers had a big surprise in store as Trinity Leeds celebrated its 100,000,000th visitor in style.

The iconic shopping centre, which recently celebrated its fourth birthday, marked the milestone by surprising lucky customers with gift cards – one of which was worth £500.

Sisters Kerrie-Anne Millar and Rachel Millar, from Skipton, took home the £500 prize for being Trinity Leeds’ 99,999,999th and 100,000,000th visitors.

Kerrie-Anne, 16, said: “I honestly thought it was all a joke at first. We just came here for a day out shopping and didn’t expect anything like this.”

Sister Rachel, 24, said: “It’s all a bit surreal. We come to Trinity Leeds a lot because of the variety of shops and we’ll probably spend the gift card on clothes. We love Trinity Kitchen too!”

Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager, said: “The incredible support we’ve had from the people of Leeds and beyond has been overwhelming. To welcome such a staggering number of visitors in just four years is incredible.

“Trinity Leeds has gone from strength to strength, becoming a central hub in the city with tens of thousands of visitors coming through our doors every single day, and this is just a little way to say thank you to shoppers for their support.”

To track their 100,000,000th customer, footfall was counted and analysed by Springboard (www.spring-board.info), with cameras installed across the centre.
