Nationwide interior design and fit-out business Claremont has scooped its second industry award win in a week.
Claremont’s work for Everton Football Club in Liverpool’s iconic Grade 1 listed Liver Building was crowned North West Business Insider’s Commercial Fit-out of the Year at its annual Insider Property Awards last week.
The win comes hot on the heels of recognition from the British Council of Offices for Claremont’s work with Pukka Herbs in Bristol, which received the prestigious ‘Fit Out of a Workplace’ South Award.
Claremont’s team delivered a high-quality, flexible and collaborative workspace for Everton Football Club which spanned 33,660 sq ft over a 21 week period. The finished office is a world-class, flexible, future-proof environment that personifies the rich history and future ambitions of the club.
The main open workspaces are linked by neighbourhood touch-down zones, quiet rooms, meeting niches and different workspace configurations, whilst a circulationary route through the office acts as an ‘Everton experience’, with an archive of material and memorabilia on show to bring character and connectivity to the space. A key cultural challenge was the major shift away from being located within Goodison Park, so Everton’s values as the ‘Peoples Club’ were captured through the interconnecting reception, cafe and informal workspaces.
Ann Clarke, Joint Managing Director of Claremont said: “Sustainability was a particularly important consideration for this fit-out and it informed Everton’s decision to take the space as a shell rather than finished Cat A works. This helped to avoid substantial waste of new materials, especially when making alterations to the ceiling throughout and also led to the use of highly durable finishes and materials in the office’s highest traffic areas, such as the Everton Experience and on-site café.
“Winning two fit-out awards within a week is not only great recognition for our hard-working team, but proof of the very high standards and quality finish we continue to deliver to clients across the UK. We are thrilled to have our work with Everton Football Cub and CBRE recognised in this way and it was a real privilege to deliver such a special fit-out in one of Liverpool’s most celebrated and best-loved buildings.”
Claremont’s work with Gazprom was also shortlisted in the same category at the Insider Property Awards.
