Tyne Tunnels invests in new team members as part of a growing commitment to customers

TT2 Limited, the operator of the Tyne Tunnels, has invested in two new team members to support its continued commitment to improved customer experience.

John Musgrove has joined the team as a customer service agent and Jack Harbison has been promoted from the role of tunnels officer to senior tunnels officer.

John, 44, brings 20 years of customer service experience to the team, having previously worked in fields including banking and retail. In his new role, he is working on the frontline with customers, handling their phone calls, emails and general enquiries.

Jack, 26, joined TT2 Limited in 2015 as a tunnel officer, responsible for the supervision of traffic, customers and site activities within the Tyne Tunnels area. Jack’s first appointment coincided with the third anniversary of the opening of the second Tyne Tunnel.

John said: “I wanted to work with TT2 Limited, as it is a reputable company, is local to my home and is a corner stone for North and South Tyneside.

“There has been a lot to take in, much more than I would envisage, however with the help and support and patience of my new colleagues, I have been able to settle into my new role quite well.”

Jack said: “I initially wanted to be a tunnels officer, as there are not many other jobs like it. Every day can be different. I was also aware that there was good opportunity for progression at TT2 and this appealed to me.

“I’m settling into my new job very well and currently ongoing with training in the control room, as this will be part of my duties. I’m also enjoying the new challenges that come with this step up in the organisation.”

Chris Ward, Customer Operations Manager at TT2 Limited, said: “This year, we have invested in a number of initiatives to improve customer experience, including new technology, improved communications and introducing more staff.

“We’d like to welcome John to our customer service team, and we know he’ll be an asset to the team with the two decades of experience he brings to the role. I’d also like to congratulate Jack on his promotion to senior tunnels officer. He’s made a huge difference already in the past four and a half years, and we know he’ll continue to do well.”
