Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls Agrees TK Maxx Festive Sweets Deal

Uncle Joe's Festive Tins

Premium confectionery brand Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls has secured an order from national retailer TK Maxx, which will see it providing four varieties of festive flavoured sweets for sale in stores across the UK in the run up to Christmas.

The flavours – Mulled Wine, Christmas Pudding and Mince Pie and Cherry Rudolph Noses – will be sold in specially-designed festive tins and will retail at £3.95.

They are available across Watford-based TK Maxx’s 300-plus UK stores.

The festive sweet flavours were created following an online poll of Uncle Joe’s fans, who were asked to suggest new varieties, as well as input from the company’s newly-formed tasting panel, made up of sweet lovers from across the country.

John Winnard MBE and Ant Winnard, Joint Managing Directors at the Wigan-based company, said: “Our festive sweets are a little bit of fun but also taste great and make a perfect stocking filler for both children and adults.

“To receive an order from a high-profile national retailer like TK Maxx is fantastic and means the sweets will be widely available across the UK.”

Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls are made by Wigan-based William Santus and Co Ltd, a privately-owned traditional sweet company that was established in 1898.

The ownership has been passed down through the family generations and joint Managing Directors John and Antony Winnard are the great, great nephews of the company’s founder.

The Mint Balls are still manufactured using the same traditional methods as when Mrs Santus originally made the sweets in her kitchen in 1898.
