Unique Opportunity For Local Business Leaders To Quiz Ed Miliband This Wednesday

This week, Yorkshire’s business leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session with newly appointed shadow business secretary, Ed Miliband.

Mr Miliband will participate in the live video Q&A session on the Coronavirus Yorkshire Business Support Group’s Facebook page at 10am on Wednesday 29th April 2020. The independent group was established last month by virtualDCS and Fleek Marketing, with support from Candid PR. A wide range of other local businesses, from a variety of industries, have now joined up to lend a helping hand to others throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

The Coronavirus Yorkshire Business Support Group now offers free advice and guidance to all types of businesses affected by Covid-19. Representatives in the group include IT and cloud services, communications, PR and marketing, business finance, law and many more. It has immediately proved successful, with approximately 600 people already signed up to its dedicated Facebook and LinkedIn pages.

Sir Keir Starmer appointed former Labour leader Ed Miliband as shadow business secretary earlier this month. Mr Miliband was previously energy and climate change secretary in Gordon Brown’s government and returns to the front bench five years after he stepped down as Labour’s party leader.

Nikki Towler, joint founder of the Coronavirus Yorkshire Business Support Group, said: “We wanted to let businesses impacted by the Coronavirus know that they are not alone in this difficult time, and that by working together and supporting each other, Yorkshire is strong enough to get through Covid-19.

“In the last few weeks, we have hosted a wide range of popular advice sessions and Q&As, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming Ed Miliband on Wednesday morning. It will be an opportunity for the region’s business community to speak directly to an influential political figure and ask plenty of questions, as well as highlighting the issues affecting them during the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Anyone wanting to watch or participate in the Facebook Live Q&A session should search for the ‘Coronavirus Yorkshire Business Support Group’ on the social media platform before 10am on Wednesday.
