West Yorkshire Print Management Company sponsors Secondary School Student’s Charity Trip

Elland-based, family business ABS UK Ltd. has donated funds to sponsor Brooksbank School student’s charity trip to Sri Lanka.

ABS UK have donated £1,000 to 17-year old student Charlotte Lumb for her volunteer trip to Sri Lanka; Charlotte will spend two weeks of her summer holiday, between August 19th and September 3rd in the Southern town of Ambalangoda.

The trip will entail four areas of activity: teaching orphans English, caring for retired elephants, looking after turtles and their eggs and helping to paint a local temple.

The donation falls in line with the activity of ABS’ charity arm, the ABS Foundation, which has supported numerous projects in Sri Lanka. Among others, the Foundation has supported the construction of an infirmary and volunteer accommodation at the Eliya Children’s Home in Tangalle, Sri Lanka, which they then continued with a donation of £8,000 for the installation of Solar Panels which has helped reduce bills considerably.

David Lees, Marketing & CSR Director at ABS UK commented: “Charlotte contacted us asking for support for her trip and we were extremely impressed with her initial email and her presentation in front of the board. Sri Lanka is a place that is close to our hearts and as a student at a local school we were delighted to be able to support Charlotte’s trip. We wish her the best and hope she has a fantastic time.”
