A Yorkshire restaurateur is hoping he’s found the recipe for success as he gets curry lovers hot under the collar with a new dish packed with aphrodisiac ingredients.
Valentine’s Day diners can enjoy a steamy taste sensation if they order the specially created dish called ‘Jalfrezi in Love’ at the Balti House at Tingley.
The main ingredient in the exclusive dish is steak cooked in a saucy combination of spices.
Steak is a major aphrodisiac as protein-rich lean red meat boosts levels of the hormones dopamine and norepinephrine, which increases the heart rate. Red meat also boasts a good dose of zinc which is good news for men as it helps guard against impotence.
The dish is also packed with a range of exotic spices including chilli, turmeric, cardamom, ginger, garlic, cloves and saffron, considered one of the world’s rarest and expensive spices. Cultivated from the crocus flower it stimulates the pleasure centres of the brain. Scientists recently discovered that saffron is great for the libido. The dish is served with roasted asparagus, another great aphrodisiac.
Rob Rahman, owner of the Balti House, who designed the dish said: “We’ve come up with the perfect recipe for love with this dish which contains more aphrodisiac ingredients than any other curry. Forget chocolate and oysters this year, my dish is steamier than a vindaloo and a sure-fire way to get curry lovers in the mood!
“Indian spices are not only used to flavour, cook preserve and heal, they can play a big part in boosting sex drives too. Many of the spices found in curry have aphrodisiac qualities and could work wonders for anyone looking to add a bit more spice to their love life!”
The 40 seat restaurant employs 12 staff and offers an extensive menu including an exclusive range of dishes from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Kashmir. The restaurant also serves up almost 3,000 takeaways every month.
Rob’s Valentine Day special Jalfrezi in Love will be available from 14-18th February.
