A rural pub in North Yorkshire says superfast broadband has brought them into the 21st century!
The Bay Horse, in Great Heck near Selby, has never had internet access before but it’s recently been taken over. New owner Chris Smith, who has decades of experience in the pub industry, says being connected will be vital to their success.
“You can’t run a pub nowadays without wi-fi. As well as providing a lovely location for our locals, we want to catch passing trade, people who want to work away from the office on their laptops and those who want to be able to check their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
“We knew Quickline from our previous pub in Snaith so knew they would be able to help us get high speed internet here at the Bay Horse. Their superfast broadband means that we can now offer free wi-fi access to our customers. They can be connected in as little as 20 seconds. Of course, we’re also using it to promote our business online and via social media channels. We are getting a real opportunity at growth.”

The pub’s refreshing and home-made Grapefruit Gin, which owner Chris Smith has started to produce, is also proving to be a big hit.
