Feather Cycles, the York based bespoke bicycle company, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a day of celebrations and activities on Saturday the 27th July. The event, taking place at Shipton by Beningbrough Community Centre, a stones throw from the Feather Cycles workshop, sees Feather’s bikes coming from across the globe, as well as the launch of a collaboration beer with Brew York.
Founder of Feather Cycles, Ricky Feather, commented, “The first ten years of Feather Cycles has been amazing. I’ve been lucky to be supported by some fantastic customers who have been super fun to work with on some really interesting projects.” Ricky further added, “These celebrations are an opportunity for me to say thank you to those who have supported me as well to show how far the business has come in 10 years.”
For Feather Cycles owners, there is a 40-mile ride at 9am with everyone welcome at the Community Centre to continue the celebrations following the ride for free pizza and drinks.
Other highlights of the day include a photo and comments wall. Plus, tours of the Feather workshop, where people can gain an insight into the workmanship that goes into hand-crafted bikes. There will be a screening of various short films which have featured Feather Cycles, from the likes of Rapha and Oakley.
Rapha, who produce performance cycling clothing, have supported Feather Cycles over the last 10 years and will be creating a special 10th anniversary cycling jersey and bib shorts. These will be available to pre-order at the event. There will also be 10 year anniversary t-shirts available to buy on the day.
There is also a large children’s play area for the little ones (or big ones) who want to expend energy whilst everyone else enjoys the bikes, the company and other festivities.
“I really cannot wait to see all the Feather bikes together in one place and see so many old and new friends” commented Ricky, “This promises to be a really fun filled day which I’m really excited about.”
The event is ticketed. These are available by contacting Feather Cycles.
