Yorkshire-based designer launches hacker-proof wallet

A Leeds-based designer and manufacturer of men’s fashion accessories has launched a new RFID-blocking wallet.

Established in 2014, Vanacci has created the Carbon Exo wallet which was launch on Kickstarter on 19th October 2017.

Following the success of the brand’s original wallet, the Carbon Evo, the Carbon Exo is an upgraded version, offering a similar unique style with improved functionality.

The wallet features an RFID (radio-frequency identification) blocking layer, preventing hackers from accessing contactless cards through the wallet.

Created using carbon fibre leather, the Carbon Exo allows for increased durability and offers 300% more abrasion resistance compared to standard leather.

Combining striking appearances with practical design, Vanacci’s design philosophy is to create a product that genuinely fulfils a consumer need.

Consisting of a tight-knit team of designers, engineers and fashion professionals, Vanacci is headed-up by co-founder and managing director, James Whitfield, who is supported by fellow co-founders, sales director, Ryan Ward and creative director, Sean Sykes.

The company’s product offering to date includes men’s watches, wallets, bracelets, pendants and cufflinks.
Commenting on the launch of the Carbon Exo, managing director James Whitfield said:

“Having worked with our customers to improve the Carbon wallet range, we are delighted to be launching the Carbon Exo. We firmly believe our innovative design will revolutionise the men’s accessories industry, as the technology we have implemented in our products will solve a problem many consumers are experiencing at the moment.

“RFID technology, albeit convenient, is vulnerable to wireless identity theft, where credit and debit card data can be stolen. Our wallets are stylish and serve as a conversational piece for consumers, whilst also protecting them from being pickpocketed whilst going about their daily lives.”
