Yorkshire Businesses Bring Festive Fun to Huddersfield

Two Yorkshire companies with community at their hearts are teaming up to bring a uniquely festive experience to Huddersfield’s growing visitor numbers.

Barnsley based Totally Tipi is placing it’s unique travelling bar Hygge Tipi at the heart of the town’s first Winter Festival, in partnership with not for profit community group Huddersfield Live.

Hygge Tipi is a pop up licensed bar which provides the perfect winter refuge with its roaring fire and warm welcome. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the children’s Winter Wonderland Workshop and carol singing, which also form part of the Huddersfield Winter Festival.

‘Hygge’ pronounced “hoo-guh” is a Danish concept which is best described as a quality of cosiness or comfortability, making simple, everyday things more meaningful.

Huddersfield Live and Totally Tipi hope that the Hygge Tipi bar’s presence at the Winter Festival will prove a popular addition to the event.

Jay Ashton, director at Totally Tipi, explained: “We’ve been so pleased with the growing popularity of our Hygge Tipi after its appearances around Yorkshire this year. We were thrilled to be asked by Huddersfield Live to join its Winter Festival celebrations – our joint efforts will make the event a real treat!”

Hygge Tipi forms the perfect space to relax with family after a day’s shopping. As the night draws in, the stunning Tipi Bar will take centre stage with its twinkling lights and fine selection of wines and craft ales – perfect tonics against the chilly winter weather.

Huddersfield Winter Festival will run from 17th November until 1st January 2018, Wednesday to Sunday 11am – 9pm at St George’s Square.

Sam Watt, Director of Huddersfield Live said: “We want our Winter Festival to be a centrepiece for the town over the Christmas period. We have a feeling Hygge Tipi will be one of its most popular attractions!”

Families and individuals are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere that only the Hygge Tipi can provide. More information can be found at www.facebook.com/huddersfieldwinterfestival/.
