Yorkshire businesswoman set to take on 60 miles across five trying challenges for charity

Katrina Cliffe, the Managing Director of Huddersfield-based marketing and PR agency KC Communications, is set to take on another year of physical challenges for babyloss charity, Tommy’s.

After a successful 2018 which saw her complete a number of challenges including the Yorkshire 10 mile, Katrina’s set to push herself further in 2019 with the addition of the Leeds Half and Yorkshire Marathon alongside a number of 10K’s and a GoTri triathlon. In total, the five challenges will see Katrina swim, run and cycle approximately 60 gruelling miles.

Having experienced the devastating loss of her first baby, a little boy named Casey, 20 weeks into pregnancy in 2004, Katrina and her family has spent the past 15 years undertaking a number of activities raising almost £15,000 for Tommy’s, the baby charity in the process.

Katrina said: “It would appear that Casey’s legacy has been to both keep me motivated, and to make a difference. To achieve that, once again I’ll be lacing up my trainers to take on a variety of running challenges.

“After success at the Yorkshire 10 mile, my longest race to date, I thought why not step it up a little further. I must admit, the distance is a little daunting but with some consistent training and a never quit attitude, I’m sure I’ll achieve these and be quite surprised with my results in the process.”

Tommy’s fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. Their aim is to give every parent the best pregnancy outcome.
