The newly formed residential division of leading integrated interior solutions provider and FF&E specialist Southerns Broadstock, has been awarded a £340,000 refurbishment contract with University of Kent.

Case goods specified and being installed in bedrooms at both sites include wall storage, fitted wardrobes, beds with hidden storage, student desks and headboards with in-built storage solutions. With production of the furniture already underway, the four-week refit of the properties is set to begin mid-July with completion scheduled for mid-August.

The company’s newly launched residential division, headed up by industry front runner, Ross Miller, has been introduced to provide a dedicated service to the growing residential sector, supporting clients in the hotel and leisure, healthcare, residential lettings and education sectors..

Jon Stoney, sales director at Southerns Broadstock, said: “We are thrilled to have secured the refurbishment contract with University of Kent, who are an existing client of ours. The project will see us completely renovate 273 student bedrooms, creating brand new, modern living spaces for students to relax and study in. We have designed a completely bespoke range of furniture to be used in the bedrooms, incorporating clever storage solutions to accommodate student’s belongings and meet modern day living needs.

“Whilst Southerns Broadstock has carried out many residential refurbishment projects for universities in the past, this is one of the first major projects our new specialist residential division will undertake and we are excited to showcase our capabilities in this area.”
