The long-standing kitchen and fitted furniture business, Wharfedale Fitted Furniture, has been acquired by Ilkley-based entrepreneur, Rhys Boven.

Rhys Boven, 24, has acquired the renowned business from Stephen and David Tylnsley.

Established in 1993, Wharfedale Fitted Furniture produce beautifully designed fitted and free-standing furniture made to suit the specific needs of every customer. From their 2,000 sq ft showroom and workshop on Leeds Road, they offer a wide range of kitchens and bedrooms to retail and trade customers across Yorkshire.

Rhys will oversee the operation with the staff members remaining within the business. The expansion plans will introduce three new team members, including Project Manager, Kyle Moulson.

Kyle Moulson has 8 years’ experience within the industry and has previously come from running his own joinery business, KMJ.

Rhys Boven said: “This is a really exciting time for the business. Wharfedale has tremendous potential and we’re keen to build on its excellent reputation within Ilkley and the surrounding areas. Most locals will recognise the Wharfedale brand and showroom due to its 30 years trading and prominent showroom location, so it’s a privilege to be able to develop the business further.”
