Virtual Reality-Powered Hyper Reality Experience Launches in Leeds

The UK’s first ever virtual reality-powered game experience has been unveiled in Leed

The Hyper Reality Experience merges state-of-the-art virtual reality technology with physical sets and multisensory effects to create a fully immersive, multi-player entertainment attraction.

Tick Tock Unlock, which has six escape game sites in four cities, is behind the innovative new experience which opened at Trinity Leeds. It is the first in a series of centres to be launched in British cities – ten are planned to be opened by 2019.

Ali Khan, director of the Hyper Reality Experience and Tick Tock Unlock, said: “Our brand new Hyper Reality Experience centre is a game changer for the tech industry in Leeds – you can’t get anything like this in the UK. Using state-of-the-art technology, we’ve pushed the boundaries of gaming to take it to a whole new level.

“Players can immerse themselves in an experience that is out of this world, combining video game, virtual reality, real-world and theatrical elements. It really has to be seen to be believed.”

Mr Khan added: “We’re so proud to launch a concept that’s a UK-first right here in our hometown of Leeds. It won’t be long before you see more Hyper Reality Experience centres opening across the country – just watch this space.”

The first Hyper Reality Experience will launch this weekend at Trinity Leeds – an award-winning shopping centre located in the heart of the city.

Dan Wharton, Marketing Manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “This new addition to Trinity Leeds is sure to be an unmissable experience and we’re sure people will travel from far and wide to try out this exciting new concept.”

The launch of the Hyper Reality Experience coincides with the start of the Leeds International Festival in April.

Martin Dickson, Head of Marketing at LeedsBID, which is funding Leeds International Festival, said: “Tick Tock Unlock’s new Hyper Reality Experience centre certainly is an exciting, unique attraction for Leeds city centre, and it is great to have it launching on the opening day of the first Leeds International Festival.”
