New used car concept to launch in West Yorkshire following six-figure investment

A new used car concept will launch in West Yorkshire next month, following months of preparation and over £150,000 investment.

The Car Spot, based in Sowerby Bridge, is set to create six new jobs for the area and will provide customers with a different way to sell their motor.

The idea is simple — when someone takes their car to The Car Spot, the company will prepare it, advertise it and sell it within 60 days, for a flat fee. And if the vehicle isn’t retailed within the initial two-month period, The Car Spot will offer to buy it from them.

This fresh approach will also be mirrored on the buying side of the business, with the introduction of a ‘CarFinder’ tool. If a customer has specific requirements in terms of the make, model, mileage, and colour of a vehicle, for instance, The Car Spot’s advisors will source it for them.

The company will also offer customers the option to buy a car online and get it delivered to their home or place of work.

David Hobin, managing director of The Car Spot said: “In the past few years, the car market has changed. The customer is no longer willing to settle for poor service or choice. So, we wanted to launch a business which is truly focused on an individual’s needs.

“We also bring a human element to buying and selling cars. Online car buying is on the up, but we think it’s important to offer a personable service alongside that. From the moment a customer enquires, they’ll be able to speak to and get guidance from one of our advisors, whether it’s over the phone, email, SMS, or on social media.”

The Car Spot is based on Rochdale Road, Sowerby Bridge and will launch at the end of August. The business is currently recruiting for customer advisors and car valeters.
