Barratt Developments welcomes local MP Nick Fletcher to Kings Lodge development in Doncaster

Late last year saw local housebuilder, Barratt Developments, welcome MP Nick Fletcher to its nearby development, Kings Lodge, to meet with the award-winning Site Manager.

MP Nick Fletcher was welcomed onto the local development by Barratt Developments Yorkshire East’s Managing Director Daniel Smith and Site Manager Darren Thornton, where he received an insightful tour of the site, which offers a total of 248 high quality properties for residents within the area.

The visit saw Mr Fletcher take a tour inside the housebuilder’s two show homes, the Ellerton and Halton house types, which offer fantastic options for families who are looking to purchase within the area. The Halton is a detached property that offers four large double bedrooms, large living spaces and a modern family bathroom. The Ellerton provides spacious and practical living, and is popular with first-time buyers due to its two double bedrooms and further single bedroom. The tour allowed Mr Fletcher to gain an insight into the way new homes are designed in response to the evolving homeowner preferences within the area.

During his visit, the Don Valley MP walked the site and expressed how impressed he was with the layout of the development, offering adequate space and garden areas for each home and throughout the site. Mr Fletcher was also interested in learning about the design types for private driveways in order to help with surface water management in flood areas, an important focus for him.

This visit follows the recent win of Kings Lodge Site Manager, Darren Thornton, who was awarded with the prestigious Pride In The Job Award earlier this year, following his commitment to building outstanding high quality homes at Kings Lodge.

In addition to this, the local area has seen enhancements that the housebuilder has made to the area, including improvements to local education, transport and the unity project.

Nick Fletcher, Member of Parliament for Don Valley, commented: “I was thrilled to have been invited to visit the development and meet with the team, including award-winning Site Manager, Darren Thornton. It was fantastic to learn about the many ways in which Barratt Developments continues to support the local community. The development provides much-needed, high quality housing for our local Doncaster residents, as well as plenty of fantastic schemes to help people step on, or up, the property ladder, which is crucial to supporting the area. I look forward to seeing the community on the development grow even further, in what is a really exciting time for Doncaster.”

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East said: “It was wonderful to welcome MP Nick Fletcher to Kings Lodge and give him a behind-the-scenes look at all of the hard work that goes into building communities within the area. We’ve taken care to adapt the properties that we build in response to customer demand for functional and flexible spaces, as we continue to provide high quality homes, as demonstrated with Ellerton and Halton. Mr Fletcher’s visit was a fantastic way to celebrate Darren’s incredible award win with his recent Pride in The Job, and we thank him for taking the time to visit the site.”

Barratt Developments’ Kings Lodge offers a collection of three and four bedroom energy-efficient homes on the edge of Hatfield, within walking distance from the independent shops, cafes and pubs of the quaint village centre and just 15 minutes’ drive from Doncaster.
